In Haldensleben, Saxony-Anhalt, automotive supplier IFA has commissioned a major commercial and industrial rooftop photovoltaic installation, integrating clean energy generation directly into its manufacturing infrastructure. Built with Trinasolar Vertex S+ 500 W+ modules, the 4.6 MWp system marks a significant step forward in cost-efficient and sustainable energy supply for the industrial site.
The system comprises 9,070 high-efficiency solar modules deployed across the roofs of six buildings at the Haldensleben complex. Engineered and constructed by EPC partner GETEC, the installation is designed to optimise underutilised rooftop space without disrupting the site's primary industrial operations.
The new array is projected to cover approximately one-quarter of IFA’s total electricity needs. By generating power directly at the point of consumption, the system minimises reliance on the external grid, stabilises operational energy costs, and establishes a highly resilient energy model for the automotive manufacturing process.
With its smart use of existing industrial roof space, substantial grid-offset capability, and strong partnership execution, the IFA Haldensleben site represents a progressive model for the C&I sector, demonstrating how modern industrial manufacturing and renewable energy infrastructure can seamlessly align to deliver long-term economic and environmental value.
