The Glades RV Resort

PV for RVs: Introducing One of the Country’s First RV Parks to Run on Solar Power.

The owner of the Glades Resort, an RV park in Moore Haven, Florida, noticed an opportunity to practice environmental stewardship and save money on his power costs by switching from traditional to renewable energy. But getting the PV system designed and ready for installation was complex, involving many moving targets and ambitious goals.

Find out how Trinasolar’s C&I Solutions team helped the Glades Resort become one of the first RV parks in the country to be fully powered by a 1 Megawatt (MW) solar power station.

Haynes International

Haynes International (Haynes), one of the largest producers of corrosion-resistant and high-temperature alloys, was seeking a cost-effective way to obtain energy savings for its tubular products facility in Acadia, Louisiana. At the same time, the company was working towards achieving its Environmental, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG) goals, which include reducing emissions through decarbonization.

Haynes turned to Spear Commercial and Industrial (Spear) to install a rooftop solar installation at its Acadia facility to achieve its savings and ESG goals. Based in Austin, Texas, Spear is a leading developer of C&I solar projects and general electrical contracting, providing preeminent solar and electrical design, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) capabilities for customers nationwide. Spear had worked with Haynes before to build a 1.34 MW fixed ground mount PV project in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

In much the same way Haynes turned to Spear because of previous project success, Spear turned to Trinasolar’s C&I Solutions team due to successful past projects. Trina’s C&I Solution’s innovative one-stop-shop model provided Spear with seamless and streamlined procurement of balance-of-system (BOS) components, supplying the modules and inverters. This helped alleviate work for Spear’s team so they could focus on the project without getting bogged down in dealing with multiple suppliers or distributors, which helped manage the project’s soft costs.

Trinasolar supplied 744 ultra-high-power and high-efficiency bifacial Vertex modules with up to 505W power output and 21% efficiency.

Inspira Health Center

Inspira Health is a charitable nonprofit healthcare organization and a regional leader in physician training. It has four medical centers, two comprehensive cancer centers, eight multi-specialty health centers, and locations throughout southern New Jersey. Inspira recently partnered with Rendina, a trusted national leader in healthcare real estate.

Equinox Renewable Energy, LLC, located in Millville, NJ, develops, designs, and builds solar and energy storage projects for the commercial and industrial (C&I) market. Julian Rossini, the principal at Equinox, is a proven solar industry veteran with a long track record of success. Before joining Equinox, Julian partnered with Inspira to install a rooftop array using Trina Solar Tallmax modules. Atop Inspira’s Millville emergency medical center, the project garnered a nomination for 2021’s “C&I Project of the Year Award” from Solar Builder.

Building on that success, Julian, now with Equinox, once again partnered with Inspira and Trina Solar C&I Solutions to install a 331 kilowatt (kW) rooftop PV system for Inspira’s new medical clinic in Deptford, NJ.

Smithville Solar Project

In the heart of Texas, a newly commissioned 1.4-megawatt (MW) solar project in the City of Smithville showcases how innovative technology and strategic partnerships can overcome challenges to deliver clean, reliable energy.

The project represents a collaborative effort between Trinasolar US; UGE, the developer, owner, and operator of the project; the City of Smithville; and Spear Commercial and Industrial, a local EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firm. Smithville, a community of people and businesses that came together with support for local growth and overall quality of life, wanted to increase local energy generation and strengthen resilience for residents and businesses.

Hawke Point Golf Course

The owners of Hawk Pointe Golf Club seek to make their course the most environmentally-friendly golf course in the country.
In addition to powering course facilities with clean solar power, Hawk Pointe has also invested in a system that reclaims and treats wastewater to supply the significant volumes of water required to irrigate the course. Solar was chosen as the clean energy source because peak energy demand on the golf course coincides with peak energy production from solar.

Camilla Utility Project

Origis chose Trina to meet an accelerated deadline, when the previously selected module supplier could not accelerate delivery. The Camilla, GA site was developed by Origis Energy to deliver power to Georgia Power under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Origis Energy had targeted to completing the plant by a certain date.

560MW PV Power Plant at A High Altitude

This project is located in Hainan Prefecture, Qinghai Province and is the first large-scale base demonstration project in Xinghai County. The average elevation of Hainan is 3200 meters, and it is the first time that Datang Qinghai Energy Development Co., Ltd. has adopted N-type large-sized ultra-high power bifacial dual glass modules at high altitude and cold regions. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2023, with an average annual power generation of approximately 1.077 billion kWh.
